I have fished for as long as I can remember, mainly from England, Wales, Scotland and Ireland. I tried kayak fishing 6 years ago, and haven’t looked back since. I kayak fish in rivers, lakes and the sea and will fish for anything which swims. Championed the use of technology on the kayak, including side imaging sonar and high definition video cams. I run a successful kayak fishing website specialising in reviews of kayak fishing tackle, a UK kayak fishing facebook group (come and join the fun !), and a Youtube channel dedicated to kayak fishing videos. I love kayak fishing, and have written a FREE Beginners Guide to Kayak Fishing to try to give something back to the sport which has given me so much pleasure over the years. When I am not working, you will find me out on the water kayak fishing in Somerset or Devon.

Rob Appleby

Rob grew up in the North East of England where he was introduced to fishing at the age of five. Within a few years he was a regular on the beach scene, though the the decline of UK fish stocks over the next few years severely impacted his enthusiasm for the sport.
His military postings have seen him move around the UK, though in the late 90’s he settled in the South of the UK. After experiencing some very poor beach angling he transitioned to kayak fishing in 2007. Since then he’s clocked up hundreds of trips on the water, both day and night. As much as he fishes various locations around the UK whenever possible, he concentrates his efforts in the South West where the tides and fishing can be quite extreme.
Earlier this year he enjoyed a taste of kayak fishing in the USA and he’s eager to come back and sample some more!
 

Nina Kavón

Experience:

Nina Kavon has been fishing as long as she remembers. Interest in all kinds of fishing has been passed to her by her family. First it was a hobby and very soon also her job and now days it is sometimes impossible try to separate these two parts of her life.

Nina is fishing mostly in the archipelagos of the Finnish Gulf, changing her target fish species and technics by the season. One of her biggest ambitions is fly fishing pike from her float tube. Kayak fishing is her latest found and she is enjoying every moment of learning this new type of fishing.
 

Gero Priebe

Gero enjoys every kind of watersports. He´s an enthusiastic sailor, surfer and fisherman. He started fishing when he was 6 years old at the family holiday spot in the north of Germany. In this period he became infected by the “Hobie Way of Life” when he was sailing a Hobie 16 for the first time.
Now he is using his experience in fishing and surfing to combine the two sports with SUP. He enjoys fishing “standing up” from a Hobie Stand Up Paddleboard.
Facinated by the new Hobie Pro Angler 12, his latest ambition is to go fishing from the new kayak and he is looking forward to gain more experience with it.
 

Jerome RICHARD

As far as he can remember, Jerome has always been attracted by anything that was refering to water. From fishing to swimming as well as surfing and spearfishing. As a kid, he started fishing different species of bait fish but then quickly moved on to lure fishing, tracking pikes and bass. Living close to the sea side he quickly became a sea bass and meagre specialst.

His passion for fishing drove him to discover kayak fishing in 2008, and then had his first tries in competition on the "kayak fishing tour" of which he became one of the regular competitors.
 

Cedric Lartigue

Cedric has always been attracted by water. He started fishing for trout at the age of 11.
After a few years of fishing of all kinds, he becomes addicted to lure fishing. Madly in love withblack bass, he holds the French record for biggest blackbass (11lbs) and he's also a sea bass renowned specialist.

Since 2007 fishing on hobie mirage drive kayak, he keeps on tracking large fish in difficult spots around the world such as big trouts in rivers or sailfish in the Indian Ocean ...

Winner of many competitions on the "kayak fishing tour" and "labrax cup", is sponsored by many brands with whom he develops rods, accessories, clothing, kayak trailers, etc ...

He is also a journalist for the French magazine "Predators" and loves to share his passion for fishing from Hobie kayaks.
 

Janne Matias Koivisto

Experience:

Janne Koivisto is a fishing enthousiast and mostly fishing for pike, seatrout, perch, zander and salmon. His everyday life is all about fishing. Janne´s day job is in lure manufacturing, which is also one of his hobbies. He writes also some articles in fishing magazines and take some photos as well.

You can find him at sea in Finland, but occasionaly also at some lakes or rivers. One of his favourites is pike fishing with rather large lures, which leads to catching those big ones. His Hobie Revolution 13 has changed his fishing techniques permanently to even more fun and exciting ones.
